Journeyman Linemen – Powering the Nation

Our journeyman linemen are the backbone of our powerline construction projects. These skilled professionals handle everything from installing and maintaining powerlines to repairing storm-damaged infrastructure.

Responsibilities of a Journeyman Lineman:

  • Installing and maintaining power lines, both overhead and underground
  • Climbing poles and working at heights using bucket trucks and harnesses
  • Stringing and tensioning power cables across urban and rural areas
  • Performing troubleshooting and emergency repairs on electrical systems
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and industry regulations

Requirements for Journeyman Linemen employed with us:

  • Must be a yellow ticket holding journeyman lineman
  • Experience working on high-voltage transmission and distribution systems
  • Trained in rubber gloving and hot-sticking
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and protocols
  • Class A commercial driver’s license mandatory

Heavy Equipment Operators – Precision and Power

Powerline construction relies heavily on our heavy equipment operators. Whether we’re working in the country or tight urban spaces, our operators handle diggers, cranes, backhoes, and bore rigs to ensure every project runs smoothly.

Equipment Our Operators Use:

  • Digger Derricks – Essential for setting power poles and digging pole holes
  • Bucket Trucks – Providing aerial access for line installation and repair
  • Cranes – Used for lifting transformers, poles, and other heavy materials
  • Backhoes & Hydro Excavators – Digging trenches for underground electrical systems
  • Directional Bore Rigs – Installing underground conduits without disturbing the surface

What It Takes to Be a Heavy Equipment Operator:

  • Experience operating construction equipment in powerline work or similar fields
  • Understanding of excavation and drilling safety protocols
  • Ability to work in a variety of conditions, including hot summers and rainy seasons
  • CDL and relevant certifications

Groundman – Supporting Every Step of the Job

A powerline crew wouldn’t be complete without the hard work of our groundmen. These essential team members support the entire operation by handling tools, assisting linemen, and preparing job sites for safe and efficient work.

Responsibilities of a Groundman:

  • Assisting linemen with equipment setup, wire pulling, and material handling
  • Digging trenches and preparing worksites for installations
  • Operating smaller tools and assisting with pole framing and assembly
  • Ensuring job sites are safe, organized, and ready for work
  • Learning from experienced linemen and gaining hands-on training in the field

What We Look for in a Groundman:

  • Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor labor
  • Basic knowledge of powerline construction and electrical work
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills toward becoming a lineman or equipment operator
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours
  • Class A Commercial driver’s license
